British Prime Minister Liz Truss has resigned in a statement outside Downing Street on Thursday.
She said she has informed the King of her resignation as she could not deliver the mandate she was elected on.
She said there will be Conservative leadership election to be completed within next week.
This implies that UK will have a third Prime Minister of the year in October.
Her resignation follows more calls from Tories for her to quit following a chaotic Prime Minister Questions on Wednesday.
Truss said that she will remain as prime minister until a successor is chosen.
