Heirs Energy Ltd, a company controlled by Mr. Tony Elemelu, a Non-Executive Director of the Company, has acquired 6 million ordinary shares of Seplat Energy Plc (NGX: SEPLAT).

The company notified the NGX and investing public in an announcement signed by Mrs Edith Onwechekwa, Director, Legal/Company Secretary dated September 30, 2026.
Following the above transaction, Heirs Energies Limited now holds 27,943,867 shares in the Company. As a result, the entities controlled by Mr. Tony Elumelu (Heirs Energies Limited and Heirs Holdings Limited) now hold a combined 126.4 million shares, which equate to a voting interest of 21.07% based on the issued shares of 599,944,561.
The share purchase transacted in London on September 30, 2026, was at a price of GBP8.87 per share, amounting to a total of GBP53,220,000.
Tony Elumelu first acquired shares in Seplat Energy Plc in December 2025, when Heirs Energies and Heirs Holdings acquired 120.4 million shares of the company from Maurel & Prom. In June, he joined Seplat’s board as a non-executive director in January, 2026.
The latest share purchase comes ahead of Tony Elumelu’s planned appointment as Chairman of Seplat.
Seplat Energy Plc announced in June that its current chairman, Udoma Udo Udoma, would retire on December 31, 2026, with Elumelu elected to succeed him from January 1, 2027.
