The Kano State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has received intelligence reports indicating that suspected terrorists are planning to launch attacks on public gatherings in strategic locations throughout Kano State.
In response to these threats, the command has urged residents to exercise caution and avoid crowded places and events until further notice. This precautionary measure aims to assist security operatives in identifying and neutralizing potential attackers. This information was shared in a statement issued and signed by Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer. To ensure the safety of Kano State, Kiyawa indicated that necessary security arrangements have been implemented.
“A team of experts from the Command’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal, as well as Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear units, has been deployed to strategic locations and is on high alert,” the statement further explained. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious persons or items to the unit via 08169884988 or 07067157218.
Additionally, any emergencies or suspicious activities should be directed to the nearest police station or reported to the Kano State Police Command.
