Dangote Cement Plc (NGX: DANGCEM) has set a robust Pan-African capacity expansion that will see it’s production capacity increase by 45.5% over the next four years.

Dangote Cement Plc is Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest cement producer, with a production capacity of 55.0 million tonnes (55mt) per year across ten countries.
The production capacities spread across the following countries;
- Nigeria – four fully integrated cement plants of 35.25 Mta located in Obajana, Ibese, Gboko and Okpella.
- Cameroon – 1.5Mta cement grinding facility in Douala
- Ghana – 2.0Mta importing, bagging and distribution terminal
- South Africa – 2.8Mta integrated cement plant
- Congo – 1.5Mta integrated cement plant near Mfila
- Senegal – 1.5Mta integrated cement plant in Pout
- Tanzania – 3Mta integrated plant in Mtwara
- Ethiopia – 2.5Mta integrated plant less than 90km from Addis Ababa.
- Sierra Leone – 0.5Mta importing and bagging terminal
- Zambia – 1.5Mta integrated plant in Ndola
- Cote d’Ivoire – 3Mta cement grinding facility
In its drive to expand capacity, DANGCEM seeks to add capacity by 25Mta, with 15Mta of that installed in Nigeria.
- Nigeria – 12Mta capacity will be installed at a new facility in Itori Ogun State, 6Mta in phase 1 and another 6Mta in phase 2. The company also seeks to add a new 3.0Mta line at its facility in Northern Nigeria.
- Ethiopia – A second production line (Line 2) and a satellite grinding unit, both adding 2.5Mta capacity.
- New acquisition: 2.5Mta capacity will be added through acquisition.
- Cameroon – A second production line with a 1.5Mta capacity.
- Senegal – An additional cement mill with 1.5Mta capacity.
- Zimbabwe – A 1.5Mta integrated plant.
- Tanzania – Debottle-necking of existing plant to increase production by 0.5Mta.
- Bostwana – Bulk loading to add 0.3Mta capacity.

Dangote Cement Plc was incorporated in Nigeria as a public limited liability company on 4 November, 1992 and commenced operations in January 2007 under the name Obajana Cement Plc. The name was changed on 14 July 2010 to Dangote Cement Plc.
Its parent company is Dangote Industries Limited. Its ultimate controlling party is Aliko Dangote.
