Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX GROUP) has delivered an impressive 2026 first quarter result with Group revenue surging 103% year-on-year to ₦7.223 billion, according to its unaudited financial statements for the period ended 31 March 2026.
The Group posted a profit after tax of ₦4.093 billion in Q1 2026, nearly doubling the ₦2.113 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
Total comprehensive income stood at ₦3.472 billion.
Operating profit rose to ₦3.950 billion from ₦2.147 billion, due to higher revenue and supported by a ₦2.030 billion contribution from equity-accounted investees.
Revenue growth increased in activities across the capital market value chain, including listing, trading, market data, and technology solutions through its subsidiaries.
The Total income for the Group reached ₦7.803 billion, while operating expenses rose in line with business expansion.
At its 65th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 29 April 2026, shareholders approved key resolutions, including the adoption of the audited financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025 and a final dividend of ₦2.00 per ordinary share of 50 Kobo for the 2025 financial year.
Shareholders also approved a 1-for-3 bonus issue, under which eligible members will receive one new ordinary share for every three shares held as at the qualification date of 10 April 2026.
The bonus shares will rank pari passu with existing shares.
To accommodate the bonus issue, the Company’s share capital will increase from ₦1,102,309,954 to ₦1,469,746,605, comprising 2,939,493,210 ordinary shares of 50 Kobo each.
The Board formally confirmed the appointment of Mr. Izuchukwu Akpa as the substantive Company Secretary of NGX Group, effective 29 April 2026. Mr. Akpa, who had been acting in the role since February 2024, has over eight years of experience in corporate governance, company secretariat practice, and compliance.
