A diesel tanker exploded at the Ojota inward interchange in the early hours of Monday morning.
A video of the incident circulating online showed some commuters running for safety.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), via X(formerly Twitter) said that its personnel had been deployed to the scene.

On its part, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service who also confirmed the incident noted that the flames had been brought under control.
“Situation in Ojota is under control as the peddler truck conveying Diesel inward Ketu that went on flame has been extinguished,” the post on X read.

The cause of the explosion and extent of casualty remains unknown at the time of writing this report.
