Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from her husband, Ben Affleck after two years of marriage.
The ‘Love Don’t Cost a Thing’ singer filed for divorce on Tuesday.
The duo tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022, having rekindled their relationship nearly 20 years after calling off their first engagement.
Lopez listed the date of their separation as 26 April in the court papers.
Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, first met on the set of their romcom Gigli in about 2001. They got engaged in November 2002.
They were scheduled to wed in 2003 but postponed few days to their wedding day due to the “excessive media attention” – and their split was announced at the beginning of 2004.
Both went on to get married and have children with different partners – Lopez married her long-time friend Marc Anthony and welcomed twins in 2008.
Affleck on the other hand married and had three children with actress Jennifer Garner.
“I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him,” Lopez told People magazine about reuniting with Affleck weeks before he proposed a second time around in April 2022. “It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.”
