The Nigerian Senate has concluded the screening of 45 out of the 48 ministerial nominees sent to it by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, confirming them as cabinet members.

The Senate had over the past one week conducted the screening of the nominees, with some undergoing questioning while some were passed through cursory introductions.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio put the nominations to a series of voice votes, of which all but three were approved.
The immediate past Governor of Kaduna State Nasir El-Rufai, along with Stella Okotete (Delta State) and Abubakar Danladi (Taraba State) were not confirmed along with the others as they are said to still be undergoing security clearance.
President Tinubu had on Thursday July 27, transmitted a 28-member list of ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
The Senate commenced the screening of the nominees on Monday 31st August, 2023.
