The application for the 2021 Ibrahim Leadership Fellowship programme at the African Development Bank (AfDB) is still ongoing. The programme is designed to mentor future African leaders.
The Mo Ibrahim Foundation is financing the programme position in the African Development Bank. The Fellow will perform the functions and duties of the position at the headquarters of the Bank in Abidjan, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, or in any other location from which the Bank carries out its operations, according to the publication.

This Fellowship is open to young professionals, mid-career and new executives from Africa with relevant work experience and a master’s degree.
Applications for the 2021 AfDB Fellowship are open until 15 March and the post will be taken up by 15 June, 2021.
Eligibility criteria
- National of an African country
- 7-10 years of relevant work experience to the Bank’s activities
- Master’s degree
- Under the age of 40, or 45 for women with children
- Government officials, active military personnel and political party leaders are not eligible;
