The Foreign Affairs Minister of Nigeria, Geoffery Onyeama has tested positive for Covid-19. He disclosed this on Sunday afternoon via his Twitter handle.
The Minister who tested positive after his fourth test for Covid-19, said that he was feeling irritation on his throat and decided to do a test and unfortunately his result returned positive.
He added that he is proceeding to isolation facility while praying for the best. He urged Nigerians to stay home and save lives.

The minister is a member of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, and has been actively involved in the repatriation of Nigerians stranded abroad due to movement restrictions emanating from Covid-19 pandemic.
On the Saturday 18 of July 2020, 653 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in Nigeria. This brings the total confirmed cases in the country to 36,107 with 14,938 recoveries and 778 deaths according to NCDC.
Nigeria holds the third largest confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Africa, after South Africa and Egypt.
