Etihad Airways and Ibom Air have signed an interline agreement allowing travellers to reach Abuja, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Calabar, and Enugu on a single ticket, with connections through Lagos or Accra.
Passengers arriving on Etihad will transfer onto Ibom Air under one booking, with bags checked through to their final destination.
The agreement also includes connections between Accra and both Abuja and Uyo. It introduces Uyo and Calabar into Etihad’s Nigerian network for the first time.
Ibom Air Managing Director and CEO George Uriesi described the deal as a milestone in becoming “a truly world-class African regional airline.”
He stated it positions the Akwa Ibom State-owned airline as a key domestic and regional hub for Etihad’s operations in Nigeria and Ghana.
Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Arik De, mentioned that the airline’s long-term ambitions in Nigeria centre around Nigeria.
He added that establishing the interline arrangement ahead of the new flights ensures Etihad’s existing connections to cities beyond Lagos and Accra.
