(Greenwich Merchant Bank): The Local Bourse closed negative as the NGX-ASI and market capitalization declined by 0.07% to settle at 68,286.28 points and N37.37 trillion respectively.
Hence, Year-To-Date, it decreased to 33.24%.
The top losers were DANGSUGAR 4.79%, VITAFOAM 10.00%, JAPAULGOLD 3.41% and LINKASSURE 5.56%.
Trading activity was bearish as total volume and value traded declined by 32.12% and 46.30% to settle at 378 million units and N5.48 billion respectively. Also, OANDO and DANGCEM were the most traded stocks by volume and value respectively.
Although, market breadth closed positive at 1.55x as a result of the Thirty-One(31) gainers and Twenty (25) losers.
Fixed Income Market
The average system liquidity increased by 24% to N282 billion from its opening balance of N227 billion.
At the interbank market, both the Open Buy Back and Overnight rate increased by 24bps and 27bps apiece to settle at 3.07% and 3.67% respectively.
At the NTBills market, trading activities closed bearish as average yield increased by 7bps to close at 7.30%.
Although, at the Bond market trading activities closed flat as average yield remained at 14.24%.
FX Market:
The Naira exchange rate, at the I&E window depreciated by NGN26.62/USD to close at NGN771.59/USD from NGN744.97/USD.
