Fresh from winning gold and setting a world record at the World Athletics championship last month in Eugene Oregon, USA, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has won gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The record setting athlete, completed the race in 12.30s to set yet another Games Record (GR). She therefore holds both the World Record (WR: 2.12s) and Commonwealth Games Record for this event.

In addition, she set other records along side the GR; she became the first world champion to win gold at the Commonwealth Games for this event and the first Nigerian to do the same.
Amusan successfully defended her title at the Alexander Stadium on Sunday. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast Australia, she won gold in 100m hurdles, and Bronze in the 4x100m relay.
