The Federal high Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the case of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to January 18, 2022.
Kanu’s trial was previously adjourned to January 19, 2022.
The new adjournment was issued in an emergency hearing by the court today following the application by Kanu’s lawyers that the case be brought forward.
However, the judge explained that the case can only be brought forward by a day, after the persuasions from Kanu’s lead counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, as her schedule is very tight.
Earlier reports on the emergency court hearing had indicated that Kanu may be released on bail today.
