In Osun West Senatorial District, about 150 young people and women involved in mining have received a total of N7.5 million after undergoing training in modern mining operations.
The training program, organized by the Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Dr. Lere Oyewumi, took place in Ikire, Osun State, and was conducted by the Mining Cadastral Office in Abuja.
During the conclusion of the training program on Saturday, Oyewumi, representing Osun West Senatorial Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, Adesoye Oyetunde, presented certificates and cash to the beneficiaries.
He explained that the grant was intended to support the participants’ businesses and emphasized the importance of utilizing the training and funds effectively. “We are empowering 150 constituents interested in mining, quarry works, and building constructions.
We have equipped them with improved skills and knowledge in their respective fields. Following the training, we are providing each beneficiary with N50,000 to enhance their work.
The beneficiaries come from the 10 local governments in Osun West Senatorial District. I encourage them to make good use of this opportunity and the funds to benefit their businesses. Considering the current hardships in the country, it is important for the beneficiaries to spend the money wisely,” Oyewumi stated.
