Twitter CEO, Elon Musk on Friday said that Twitter will begin to share ad revenue with creators for ads that appear in their threads.
He however, noted that the new revenue sharing program only applies to users who have subscribed to the platform’s $8 per month subscription service, Twitter Blue.
“Starting today, Twitter will share ad revenue with creators for ads that appear in their reply threads,” Musk wrote on Friday.
“To be eligible, the account must be a subscriber to Twitter Blue Verified.”

“Twitter’s legacy Blue Verified is unfortunately deeply corrupted, so will sunset in a few months,” Musk tweeted in response to a question about those who got blue checkmark before his takeover.

It’s unclear what kind of percentage will be handed out as details haven’t been released about the new program. Although, Musk tweeted that it will start Friday.
YouTube gives creators a 55% cut on revenue, while TikTok splits revenue 50/50 with its creators.
In October 2022, Musk purchased Twitter for roughly $44 billion.
