The Nigerian Navy has opened applications for Batch 39 of its Basic Training School (NNBTS), giving eligible Nigerians until October 31, 2026 to apply.
The application window runs from Friday, October 2, to Saturday, October 31, 2026, and the entire process is online.
Successful applicants will undergo basic military training and then be recruited as Ordinary Seamen.

– Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth with a National Identification Number (NIN).
– They must be medically, psychologically and physically fit, and have no previous criminal conviction.
– O’Level applicants need at least five credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than two sittings.
– SSCE/O’Level holders: 18 to 22 years
– OND/NCE holders: 18 to 26 years
The Navy also accepts tradesmen, applicants in allied medical professions and sportsmen and women, subject to the requirements for each category. Applicants should check the portal for the full list.

The Navy has warned against paying anyone. It stated that online registration and all other recruitment processes are free, and no payment should be made at any point to anyone.
Earlier, the Navy’s Director of Naval Information, Abiodun Folorunsho, said a circulating notice announcing a Batch 39 exercise was not authorised by the Navy.
The date and venues for the recruitment examination will be communicated to applicants in due course.
