Premium Times reported that the party spokeperson, Felix Morka issued the notice of the emergency meeting between the party leadership and the party governors on Friday.
The notice stated that Adamu will hold the emergency meeting with the governors on Sunday by 2 p.m. at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Following the expiration of the old N500 and N1,000 notes as legal tenders, and the disobedience of the President Buhari led Federal Government to the Supreme Court order, APC Governors and Lawmakers amongst others, mostly members of the APC, have been openly expressing their disagreement with the Federal Government actions.
Kano State Governor, Ganduje had earlier in the week alleged that the naira redesign policy of the president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), is a deliberate attempt to truncate Nigeria’s democracy and destroy the party that elected him.
Some of the governors like Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun and others have insisted that the president must obey the interim order of the Supreme Court.
In a broadcast on Thursday, Kaduna State governor, El-Rufai described the naira redesign policy as a weapon by members of the ruling party and close allies of the president to stop the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu, from winning the 25 February election.
Bola Tinubu had also insinuated at a rally in Ogun state that the Naira scarcity was engineered to stop him from winning the election.
