Twenty-seven Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have reportedly defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the crisis in the State House of Assembly took a new turn on Monday.
Investogist gathered that lawmakers who defected are loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike, who is now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The lawmakers defected during Monday’s sitting at the Assembly complex, citing division within the PDP as the primary reason for their defection to the APC.
Out of the 32 members of the state House of Assembly, four are said to be loyal to Governor Siminialayi Fubara.
