Bitcoin (BTC) has risen above US$80,000 for the first time in the history of the cryptocurrency.

BTC has been knocking around the US$80K mark in the early hours of Sunday, 10th November 2024. At about 12.08 GMT, it crossed US$80,000 on Binance Exchange, before retreating to US$79,542.00 at the time of this report.
On Investing.com, the flagship crypto with over US$1.5 trillion market capitalization was exchanging at US$79.641.60. It was exchanging at US$79,655.82 on Coindesk.
This surge in value comes amid heightened trading volume and growing interest from both retail and institutional investors.
The milestone follows the election of Donald Trump as the 47th President of United States, who is pro-digital assets and the prospect of US Congress featuring pro-crypto lawmakers.
