Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has failed to appear before the House of Representatives for the second time on Tuesday.
Emefiele had been summoned by The House to explain the CBN’s latest policy which limits weekly cash withdrawal by individuals to N100,000 and N500,000 for organisations, among others.
The governor’s failure to appear before The House comes less than a week after he failed to show up for his invitation las week Thursday.
The lawmakers were however, informed by the Deputy Governor, Corporate Services, CBN, Edward Adamu, that Emefiele was part of the entourage of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on an official trip to the United States.

Deputy Speaker of the House, Ahmed Wase, who read out the letter to members at the opening of plenary on Thursday, said the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, had rescheduled Emefiele’s appearance to Tuesday.
However, the CBN wrote the House again to say that Emefiele was still on official assignment. He is now rescheduled to appear before the House on Thursday.
The Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu, noted that the lawmakers resolution on suspend the policy stands if the governor decides not to honour their invitation.
