Following in the footsteps of other tier 1 banks listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Access Bank Plc (NSE Ticker: ACCESS) earlier today notified the investing public and the Nigeria Stock Exchange of a delay in the publication of it’s audited interim financial statements for the half year ended June 30, 2020.

This was contained in a press release the bank, seen by Investogist and signed by the company secretary, Sunday Ekwochi.
The bank stated that it’s primary regulator, the Central Bank of Nigeria, is still reviewing the Bank’s Audited Interim Financial Statement which was submitted to it following the approval of the Bank’s Board of Directors.
In consideration of the delayed publication, the bank had requested and obtained a 30-day extension of time to file the financial statements. ACCESS expects to publish the audited interim financial statements on or before September 28, 2020.
The bank reiterated that the earlier declared closed period in respect of the bank’s securities remains in place until 24 hours after the release of the bank’s audited interim financial statements for half year ended June 30, 2020.
