The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025 as public holidays to mark thiz year’s Eid el-Kabir celebration.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government on Monday, congratulating Muslims across the country and in the diaspora on the occasion.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior and signed by Magdalene Ajani, its permanent secretary.
“The Federal Government has declared Friday 6th, and Monday 9th June, 2025 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration,” the statement reads.
Tunji-Ojo called on the Muslim faithful to “continue to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him)” and to use the period to pray for “a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.”
