Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party has won the February 25 presidential election in Imo State.
Obi secured 352,904 votes to defeat his closest challengers, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Tinubu polled 66,171 to emerge second while Atiku of PDP scored 30,004 to come third. Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) came fourth with 1,536 votes.
According to INEC:
- Registered voters: 2,125,446
- Accredited voters: 476,730
- Total votes cast: 469,685
- Valid votes: 459,261
- Invalid votes: 10,424
Similarly, Obi won Abuja with a total of 281,717 votes beating Tinubu of APC who polled 90,912 votes. The PDP came in third place with a total vote of 74,193 votes.
