(Greenwich Merchant Bank): The Local bourse began the week on a bullish note as the NGX-ASI and market capitalization increased by 0.97% to settle at 67,101.33 points and N36.86 trillion respectively.
Hence, Year-To-Date, it increased to 30.93%. The top gainers were BUACEMENT 10.00%, NB 9.09%, MRS 5.72%, and CHIPLC 9.80%.
Although, trading activity was bearish as total volume traded and value traded declined by 28.18% and 61.23% to settle at 268 million units and 3.46 billion respectively.
Also, ABCTRANS and ACCESSCORP was the mosttraded stock by volume and value respectively.
In addition, market breadth closed positive at 1.09x as a result of the Twenty-Five (25) gainers and Twenty– Three (23) losers.
Fixed Income Market
The average system liquidity declined by 4% to N510 billion from its opening balance of N532 billion.
At the interbank market, both the Open Buy Back and Overnight rate closed flat to remain at 1.00% and 1.70% respectively.
In the NTBills market, trading activities closed bullish as average yields declined by 27bps to close at 6.94%.
Likewise, at the Bond market trading activities closed bullish as average yields declined marginally by 3bps to close at 14.63%.
FX Market:
The Naira exchange rate, at the I&E window depreciated by 31.69/USD to close at NGN773.54/USD from NGN741.85/USD
