Nigerian seasoned football administrator, Michael Emenalo, has been tipped to be the Director of Football for Newcastle United.
Following the recent take-over of the club by Saudi billionaires, Newcastle United is set for a positive restructuring that will see it compete among the top 6 of the English Premiership League (EPL).
Among proposed new structure would be making the club highly competitive by emphasizing the business angle to football and this is Emenalo’s area of expertise.
Among favorites of this post are former Ajax legend, Marc Overmars, and Frank McParland who had worked with Rangers and Liverpool.
The Punch, citing the Telegraph, said that the Nigerian football administrative guru appears as the favorite to land the job.
While at Chelsea, Emenalo was so outstanding that his reputation within the industry soared by helping rookies from Chelsea Academy become great footballers, including Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku.
In a related development, Newcastle has confirmed the appointment of Eddie Howe as their new manager.
The former Bournemouth manager penned a contract that will keep him at the club till 2024.
Some connections have been established to show that Howe could work with Emenalo as the latter is a fan of the former’s approach to football.
