Valentine Ozigbo, a former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, has declared that he is “100% Obidient!”
Ozigbo had on Thursday announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and declared his full support for Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
Ozigbo, 52, who was the PDP standard bearer in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, made the declaration in a series of tweets on Friday.
He said he must follow his “conscience and step out on the side of the light.”
He called on all Nigerians to join the youth-driven movement and back the candidacy of Peter Obi.
Ozigbo wrote, “I am 100% Obidient! I just got off The Arise Interview, where I announced my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and I declared my full support for His Excellency Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party
“2023 is a watershed moment for Nigeria, and I must follow my conscience and step out on the side of the light. I have declared on the side of fairness, justice, equity, peace, progress, and inclusion for all.
“I call on all Nigerians to join hands and hearts with the growing youth-driven movement backing Peter Obi’s candidacy so that we can take back our beloved country together.
“I hail the Nigerian youths getting their voices heard in this election cycle. I also celebrate Nigerians of all ages who have rejected the status quo and taken a stand for a New Nigeria under the visionary and inspiring leadership of @PeterObi and Dr Yusuf Datti.”
