Ethiopian Airlines, has announced that it will begin scheduled passenger flights to Port Harcourt, Nigeria, from December 1, 2026.
The new route will deepen the airline’s footprint in Nigeria and link West Africa more closely to its worldwide network through its Addis Ababa hub.
Flights will operate four days a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, on the following schedule:
-Addis Ababa to Port Harcourt departs 09:30, arrives 12:25
-Port Harcourt to Addis Ababa: departs 13:10, arrives 20:30
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said Port Harcourt will be the carrier’s fifth destination in Nigeria, and that its ongoing growth in the country shows its commitment to backing Nigeria’s economic development through better air links.
He added that customers will benefit from more convenient, seamless travel options, and that the route will strengthen trade, tourism and business ties between Nigeria, the wider continent and the rest of the world.
Port Harcourt is one of Nigeria’s foremost commercial and industrial cities and a major entry point to the nation’s energy sector.
Through the new service, passengers will be able to connect to destinations across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas, supporting trade, tourism, investment and cultural exchange.
Nigeria is among Ethiopian Airlines’ most important and oldest markets on the continent, and the airline first flew there in 1960. It currently serves Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Enugu, and the addition of Port Harcourt reinforces its aim of improving connectivity and supporting economic growth in Nigeria and across Africa.
