Nigerian Breweries Plc has officially notified the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public, in a circular dated 10 April 2025, of a fire that broke out on Thursday at an external leased warehouse facility opposite its Aba Brewery in Abia State.
The warehouse was primarily used for storing empty plastic crates.
According to the company’s statement, the fire was quickly brought under control through the coordinated efforts of the company’s emergency response team, supported by personnel from the Federal Government, Abia State Government, and Abia North Local Government.
Importantly, no injuries or fatalities were recorded during the incident.
Nigerian Breweries Plc stated that the immediate impact appears to be limited, mainly to the stored empty crates.
An assessment and investigation into the cause of the fire is currently ongoing.
The company reassured stakeholders that operations at the Aba Brewery including production, logistics, and sales, remain stable and unaffected by the incident.
