The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has suspended the Nigeria Air project, the concession project and other contracts stressing that he owes it to the government and Nigerians to give an honest assessment.

Keyamo disclosed this on Thursday, stating that the concession and national carrier will be suspended until he briefs the President.
Mr Keyamo took to X (formerly Twitter) to further state that no final decision has been taken on the issues of airports’ concession and national carrier.
“They are only suspended until all processes that are ALLEGEDLY non-transparent and leading to those decisions are reviewed and all complaints are assessed for the benefit of Nigerians and Mr. President is fully briefed,” he stated.
Daily Trust reported that barely a week to the end of the last administration, the Federal Government announced that it has successfully concessioned the Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA), Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The minister also disclosed during a tour at the international airport in Lagos that the old terminal of Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, will be shut down from October 1, 2023, for total maintenance work at the airport.
He therefore directed all international airlines to vacate the old terminal and relocate to the new terminal latest by October 1.
