On Sunday, 4th September, gunmen attacked members of Labour Party who were holding a meeting in Enugu State.
The incident happened at about 5.30pm in Agwu Community, Agwu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Premium times reported that the gunmen, numbering about four, were said to have stormed the venue of the meeting and shot sporadically causing the party members to flee.
It went further to report that the Chairman of LP in the council area, Ikechukwu Igwebuike informed it that no life was lost in the attack, but that some of their members sustained injuries.
Mr Igwebuike while narrating how the gunmen shot in the air, and later hit some people with their to disrupt the meeting, attributed the incident to the handiwork of the ruling party in the State; People’s Democratic Party.
“They just stormed the venue on three motorcycles and started firing,” he said.
“We believe strongly that this is the handiwork of the opposition party,” he said, without mentioning the party.
“The windshield of one of our members’ vehicle was shattered,” Mr Igwebuike added.
On Wednesday of the preceding week, some LP members were also attacked by gunmen in Nenwe, a community in Aninri Local Government Area of the state.
The police spokesperson in the state, Daniel Ndukwe, is yet to comment on the incident, at the time of filing this report.
