The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented a certificate of return to Osun State Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Adeleke received the certificate of return on Wednesday at the INEC headquarters in Oshogbo.
Adelele will be inaugurated on November 27, 2022, at the end of the tenure of the incumbent governor.
Senator Adeleke polled PDP 403,371, Governor Oyetola polled 375,027 votes, while Lasun Yusuf of Labour Party, LP polled 2,729.

In his acceptance speech after receiving the certificate at a brief ceremony, Adeleke dedicated his victory at the poll to the memory of his late elder brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke and the people of Osun state. He commended INEC for the conduct of the elections and appreciated the good people of Osun for trusting him with their votes.
PDP won 17 of the 30 Local Governments in Osun State while APC won in 13 Local Government Areas.
The PDP won Ede North Local Government, Ede South, Ifelodun, Boluwaduro, Egbedore, Odo Otin, Osogbo, Ila, Atakumosa West, Olorunda, Ilesa West, Obokun, Oriade, Orolu, Ife North, Irepodun and Ejigbo.
The Local Governments won by APC are Boripe, Ilesa East, Ayedire, Ifedayo, Ife Central, Ayedaade, Iwo, Olaoluwa, Isokan, Atakumosa East, Ife South, Ife Central and Ife East.
