Zenith Bank Plc (NSE ticker – ZENITH) has joined other tier banks in Nigeria to disclose the potential date for the filing of the long awaited financial statements for the first half of the year ended 30 June 2020, to Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
Earlier on Monday STANBIC, UBA, GUARANTY released similar disclosures as reported by Investogist.
ZENITH in its press corporate action disclosure, dated 31 August 2020, signed by Michael Osilama Otu, Company Secretary/General Counsel, submitted to NSE said that “the delay is to enable the bank conclude all outstanding regulatory requirements in the course of approval of the financial statements.”
The bank added that it is optimistic that the reports will be submitted to the exchange on or before 30 September 2020.

At the close of trading on Monday, ZENITH lost 0.59% of its value to close at N16.75 per share.
ZENITH had in July disclosed that the bank is considering the payment of interim dividend for the half-year period.
Zenith Bank Plc has a consistent dividend payout history. The bank has paid interim dividends consistently since 2017, paying 30kobo interim dividend each in 2018 and 2019 financial years.
ZENITH reported a marginal growth in profit after tax in the first quarter ended 31st March 2020; N50.526 billion in Q1 2020 against the N50.234 billion reported in the same period in 2019.
