The NGX All-Share Index and Market Capitalization increased by 0.48% to close the week at 55,794.51 and N30.395 trillion respectively.
A total turnover of 1.023 billion shares worth N20.221 billion were traded in 18,650 deals by investors on the floor of the Exchange in the week ended March 10, 2023, in contrast to a total of 1.910 billion shares valued at N18.436 billion that exchanged hands in 20,311 deals in the preceding week.
The activity chart measured by volume was led by the Financial Services Industry with 414.427million shares valued at N5.646 billion traded in 8,136 deals. Thus it contributed 40.50% and 27.92% to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.
It was followed by the Conglomerates Industry with 307.868 million shares worth N479.512 million traded in 1,122 deals.
The Industrial Goods Industry, with a turnover of 104.234 million shares worth N10.354 billion traded in 1,334 deals came in the third place.
Top three traded equities by volume are Transnational Corporation Plc, Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc and BUA Cement Plc. They accounted for 447.809 million shares worth N9.556 billion in 2,018 deals, contributing 43.76% and 47.26% to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.
Twenty-two (22) equities appreciated in price during the week lower than fifty-three (53) equities in the previous week. Forty-one (41) equities depreciated in price higher than twenty-one (21) in the previous week, while ninety-four (94) equities remained unchanged, higher than eighty-three (83) equities recorded in the previous week.
Top five gainers in the week are Julius Berger Nigeria Plc (10%), Trans-National Express Plc (9.88%), International Energies Insurance Plc (8.33%), U A C N Plc (8.24%) and Transnational Corporation Plc (7.81%).
To five decliners are MRS Oil Nigeria Plc (-18.99%), Conoil Plc (-18.89%), FTN Cocoa Processor Plc (12.33), NCR (Nigeria) PLc (-10.80%) and Multiverse Mining and Exploration Plc (-9.85%).
