Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has announced he is launching a new version of his show on Twitter.
Carlson, who spoke in a nearly 3 minute video posted on Twitter Tuesday, criticised the media and gave few details about the new show.
Carlson said: “You can’t have a free society if people aren’t allowed to say what they think is true.”
He said Twitter is the “last big one remaining in the world” for free speech.
“Twitter isn’t a partisan site,” he added. “Everyone is allowed here.”

Elon Musk said Twitter had not signed a deal with the host, who would be subject to the same rules as other “content creators,” including subscription revenue and “Community Notes,” the platform’s content moderation feature.
“I also want to be clear that we have not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever,” Musk said.
Mr Musk retweeted Carlson’s video on Tuesday evening, along with a statement saying: “On this platform, unlike the one-way street of broadcast, people are able to interact, critique and refute whatever is said.
“I also want to be clear that we have not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever. Tucker is subject to the same rules & rewards of all content creators.”
In April, Fox News announced in a brief statement that the network and Carlson had “agreed to part ways.”
Carlson was the network’s most successful host, drawing in 3.5 million viewers every night.
Neither Fox nor Carlson disclosed the reason for leaving the network but his departure came shortly after Fox announced that it has agreed to pay $787 million to Dominion Voting System in a defamation law suit.
It was reported that Fox is keeping Carlson under contract to prevent him from going to a competitor – potentially paying him $20 million a year not to work.
