The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has released fresh updates on its ongoing recruitment exercise, providing a breakdown of the process and clarifying issues around the shortlisting of candidates.
In a post on her X former Twitter @customsNG the service said that a total of 573,523 applications were received during the recruitment period. Out of this number, 286,697 candidates have been shortlisted to proceed to the next stage. However, with only 3,927 available vacancies, more than 282,000 applicants will eventually be screened out as the process advances.
The NCS emphasized that there is no PDF or public list of shortlisted candidates available online. Instead, all shortlisted candidates are being contacted directly via email notifications. Those who receive the first notification are also expected to get a follow-up message with details about the upcoming Computer-Based Test (CBT).
While the exact date of the CBT has not yet been officially confirmed, the service has assured applicants that further announcements will be made in due course.
This recruitment drive is one of the largest conducted by the Nigeria Customs Service in recent years and comes amid growing interest in federal government job opportunities.
Applicants are advised to remain patient, check their email inboxes (including spam folders) regularly, and rely only on official NCS communication channels for authentic updates.
