The high rate of unemployment in Nigeria has once again been manifested in the ongoing N-Power application which opened by 11:45pm on Friday 26 June.
Over 1 million applications have been received for N-Power Batch C across the country in less than 48 hours. This was disclosed by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, in a statement on Sunday signed by Rhoda Ishaku Iliya, Deputy Director, Information.
According to the statement, the Batch C Program “would be very focused on agriculture”, thus the ministry is calling on “all young Nigerians between the ages of 18 – 35 years, with or with formal education” to apply for a slot in the program.
The statement read in part “in line with the ongoing N-POWER Batch C online application which commenced Friday June 26, 2020, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and Social Development, hereby announces that over 1,000,000 applications have been received from across the Federation in less than 48 hours after the Honourable Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouq, declared open the new N-Power Portal on the Ministry’s website, npower.fmhds.gov.ng
“The Ministry wishes to reiterate that all young Nigerians between the ages of 18 – 35 with or without formal education can apply for a slot in the new program which would be very focused on agriculture”

Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development said that the N-Power portal has been registering 100 applications per second.
“The portal has been registering about 100 applications per second and as at 7:38 pm, we had received 1,001,045 applications.” She wrote in tweet.
