The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development had announced the commencement of enrollment for a new batch of N-Power from Friday 26 June.
The N-Power portal will be opened by 11:45pm Friday night for fresh applications according to the announcement by N-Power through its official Twitter handle on Friday.
“Dear Intending N-Power 2020 Applicants, Here is how to prepare for the N-Power application. Remember 1. Portal opens 11.45pm, June 26th, 2020. 2. Application is FREE. Do NOT pay anyone to apply on the N-Power portal. 3. Get a printout or accurate details of your BVN.”
N-Power also said that any registration made prior to 11:45 pm on Friday will not be accepted.
“We understand some people have attempted registration. Please NOTE that your registration is null and void. It doesn’t count till the portal opens at 11.45pm tonight. Following instructions are a vital component of the N-Power Programme. They are there to protect you.”
N-Power programme is open to all, graduates and non-graduates according to the ministry’s statement. “However, N-Teach and N-Health sub-programmes are open to only graduates.”
With regards to N-Health, the ministry said that preferential selection will be given to holders of Bachelor’s Degree, HND, OND in health sciences such as Medicine, Microbiology, Nursing, Public Health, Botany, Midwifery, Psychology or other allied discipline in the sciences.

What you must have before you apply
- A printout or accurate details of your Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- A recent passport photograph (1MB) either JPEG or PNG files
- Valid contact – Email address or a working phone number
- Your degree certificate and NYSC certificate, if you are a graduate and wish to apply for N-Teach an N-Health
- A valid means of identification. You will be required to upload your Government issued Identity card, either International passport, National ID card issued by NIMC, Valid drivers License or Permanent voter’s card.
- You must be between 18 – 35 years; that means you must be born between 1985 and 2002

N-Power programme was launched in 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari under the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).
The program which is aimed at unemployed Nigerians have employed 500,000 Nigerians in the past 4 years according to the statement from the ministry.
“The N-Power Programme has enrolled 500,000 beneficiaries thus far – 200,000 from Batch A which started in September 2016 and 300,000 from Batch B which kicked off in August 2018.
“The beneficiaries were supposed to spend not less than 24 months on the programme and were spread across the key industries targeted by the program – Agriculture, Health, Education, and Tax.
“The current beneficiaries from Batches A and B are scheduled to transit the programme by July 31, 2020, with plans already in place to transition them into entrepreneurship.”
Another N-Power Like Programme
The Minister of State, Labour & Employment, Festus Keyamo SAN had announced the commencement of a new programme, tailored for the “illiterates and unskilled workers” in Nigeria in a press briefing on Thursday, 28 May.
According to the minister, the Extended Special Public Works Programme approved by President Muhammadu Buhari will select 1,000 persons each from all the 774 LGAs for temporary employment during the dry season. The employment period is 3 months.
“The programme starts on the 1st of October, 2020 and we are already tight on schedule” the minister said.
