Kylian Mbappe on Saturday became Paris Saint-Germain’s all-time top scorer, surpassing Edinson Cavani. The world cup winner added the all-time top scorer landmark to his already record-laden career when he scored his 201st goal for the club against Nantes in Ligue 1.
The 24 years old France forward with a Cameroonian Father and Algerian Mother, scored PSG’s fourth goa in stoppage time to secure a 4-2 win and the record.

Speaking at a short ceremony organised by the club after the final whistle, Mbappe said;
“It’s very special to be here. The last time I was here was to announce I was staying [to extend his contract], it’s an honour to be here as the club’s top scorer.
“It’s a privilege to be a PSG player, to play in this historic shirt, for the biggest club in France.”
It has taken Kylian Mbappe jsu 247 games to surpass the record of 200 goals set by Uruguay’s Edinson Cavani in 301 games.
Mbappe joined PSG from Monaco in 2017 for a world-record transfer fee for a teenager of €180 million.
Mbappe was a key member of the French team that won the world cup in 2018 in Russia, and took home the World Cup Golden Boot in December after finishing as top scorer in Qatar 2022 world cup with eight goals, including becoming just the second man in history to score a hat trick in a World Cup final.
Kylian Mbappe, just 24, already has 12 total world cup goals, just four behind record holder Miroslav Klose of Germany.
Marking the achievement, PSG twitted “An evening for the history books,” with the video of the short ceremony.
