Dr. Fidelis Ayebae, the founder of Fidson Healthcare Plc (NGX: FIDSON) has retired as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective August 1, 2025.

This was disclosed by Mr. Segun Adebanji, Chairman of Board of Directors at the Company’s 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held electronically on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
Dr. Ayebae has steered the management of the Company for 30 years to its prominent position within the Nigerian pharmaceutical industry.
“He will be succeeded as the Managing Director/CEO by yet another pioneer Executive Director, Mr. Abiola Adetunji Adebayo. His appointment as the new Managing Director had previously been formally approved by the Board.”
The Chairman remarked, ‘This move confirms Fidson’s robust succession planning and commitment to sustained growth.’
Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Ayebae reflected on his journey and the future of Fidson. “As I step down, I do so with immense pride in what we have built together. I now retire knowing that Fidson is in excellent hands with Biola Adebayo, who has been on this journey with me for 29 years. I am confident that his leadership will continue to drive innovation and strategic growth, ensuring the Company remains at the forefront of healthcare delivery in Nigeria.”
About Dr. Ayebae
Fidelis Ayebae graduated from the Mainland Institute of Technology in 1976 with a Diploma in Civil Engineering. He obtained Advanced Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Lagos in 1999. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Administration and also a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management.
After working in various capacities in a number of organizations, including Citibank Limited, he started as the Founder and Pioneer Chief Executive Officer at Fidson Healthcare Limited in 1995. He is also the Chairman and Director of many other companies.
He has attended many courses, both locally and internationally including banking operation, organisation development skills, selling skills e.t.c.
About the Company
Fidson Healthcare Plc was incorporated as a private limited liability Company on 13 March 1995 and commenced business activities on 15 March 1995.
Its principal activities of the Company include manufacturing and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
Fidson’s shares were quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on 5 June 2008. The issued share capital is held as to 36.70% directly by the Directors, 4.99% indirectly by the Directors and 58.31% by the Nigerian Public.
