Anambra State Government is set to begin paying the new minimum wage of N70,000 next month.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo made this announcement on Thursday at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center in Awka while meeting with all principals and head teachers in public primary and secondary schools.
He also revealed that free education will be provided to senior secondary school students in all public schools in Anambra.
The governor assured that despite resource constraints, his administration will work hard to fulfill its mandate.
Additionally, Governor Soludo directed that senior students who have already paid their five thousand naira fees for this term should be refunded.
This initiative builds on the existing free education policy for pupils and students in public schools from Basic to Junior Secondary School classes, which has been in place since 2023.
