Three personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were on Wednesday arrested and detained for shooting two students of Senior Secondary School, Life Camp, Abuja.
Investogist gathered the NCDSC operatives were drafted to the school to provide security during the ongoing SSCE external examination at the premises.
It is unclear what led to the shooting which occured around 11:20am on Wednesday but two students are currently receiving treatment at the Gwarinpa Hospital.
Following the shooting, some irate high school students vandalised three patrol vehicles belonging to the NSCDC in protest against the attack on their injured colleagues.
Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred around 11.20am on Wednesday.
Confirming the incident, the FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, noted that the police had restored peace in the affected area, adding that the CP has ordered an investigation.
Adeh said, “The incident happened, but our operatives intervened in time to restore law and order, and the environment is now peaceful. Two injured students are currently receiving treatment, and the CP, Haruna Garba has ordered the commencement of an investigation into the incident.”
Following the shooting, three patrol vehicles belonging to the NSCDC were allegedly vandalised by students in protest.
