The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, for the February 25 presidential election.
ADC first disclosed this in a post on its official Twitter handle on Monday, saying the endorsement follows the formation of a coalition which aims to work for the election of Peter Obi as the next president of Nigeria.
The endorsement ceremony was held at the River Plate Gardens in Abuja on Monday morning.
The coalition, made of star alliance partners – Nigeria Mothers for Good Governance, Fulani United, Nigeria Artisans, League of Imams, Nigeria Traders, Yoruba United, Mega Political Coalition, Kanuris United, Almalgamated Coalitions, CEG Groups and Nigeria Legions United, said they seek to create a formidable force for the Obi/Datti ticket.
The event was attended by prominent figures such as the ADC National Chairman, Chief Raphael Nwosu, BoT Chairman, Dr Mani Ibrahim Ahmed and Labour Party chieftain, Prof Pat Utomi.
