Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) reported 91 new cases of Coronavirus across 15 states in the country and the FCT. This brings the total number of cases in the country to 1,273
Of the new cases reported 43-Lagos 8-Sokoto 6-Taraba 5-Kaduna 5-Gombe 3-Ondo 3-FCT 3-Edo 3-Oyo 3-Rivers 3-Bauchi 2-Osun 1-Akwa Ibom 1-Bayelsa 1-Ebonyi 1-Kebbi as at 11:50pm 26th April
Nigeria has recorded 239 recoveries and 40 deaths according the NCDC.
In other news, Italy has announced the plans to ease restrictions in the country after being on lockdown for 7 weeks. The country will start easing restriction measures from 4th May according the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte. He said that parks will be reopened and people allowed to visit relatives in small numbers while wearing masks. Businesses that will reopen from 4th May include bars, restaurants, while hairdressers and Salons will reopen from 1st June.
Funerals will resume with maximum of 15 persons. People will be allowed to move around within their own region however cross movement between regions are still restricted.
On Sunday, Italy reported 260 deaths, the lowest number of deaths from the virus per day since 14th March. The country has 197,675 confirmed cases and 26,644 deaths.
Some states in The U.S have started easing lockdown measures which saw about 90% of U.S population under some sort of mandatory lockdown at one point.
Over the weekend, Carolina, Alaska, Oklahoma, California, Georgia are among those that have started easing movement and allowing some businesses to reopen. The lockdown in Colorado will expire tonight and businesses will be allowed to reopen from Monday.
U.S is the worst affected country in the world with 963,168 confirmed cases and 54,810 deaths. The U.S has conducted 5,441,079 tests for Coronavirus with plans to increase testing capacity to 3million per week
There are total of 2,965,363 confirmed cases globally and 206,265 deaths according to John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center as at 22:55GMT 26th April.
