Nigeria center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday recorded 204 new cases of Coronavirus across 17 states and FCT. The details are as follows; 80 in Kano, 45 in Lagos, 12 in Gombe, 9 in Bauchi, 9 in Sokoto, 7 in Borno, 7 in Edo, 6 in Rivers, 6 in Ogun, 4 in FCT 4 in Akwa Ibom, 4 in Bayelsa, 3 in Kaduna, 2 in Oyo, 2 in Delta, 2 in Nasarawa, 1 in Ondo, and 1 in Kebbi. Bringing the total confirmed cases in Nigeria as at 11:50pm 30th April to1932, with 319 recoveries and 58 deaths.
World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday announced that there are 102 potential Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccines in development and that eight has been approved for clinical trials.
On Monday WHO reported that seven possible vaccines have been approved for testing. Of the vaccines approved for clinical trials, four are from China, one is from US, one from England and the last one is a combination of Europeans and Americans.

British Prime Minister Boris John held his first briefing since returning to work after recovering from Coronavirus. In his briefing he said that UK is “past the peak” of the outbreak. UK has 172,478 confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 26,771 deaths.
In his briefing, the Prime Minister said he would set out plans to ease lockdown in the coming week. Elsewhere in Europe, Greece is looking to open the country to tourists from July as it hopes to restart the economy.
In the U.S, President Trump is eager to open the country and return economic activities. Social distancing rules imposed in the country is due to expire on Thursday. However, President Trump has said he would not renew the rules.
The latest unemployment figures in the U.S showed that over 30.2 million Americans lost their jobs in the past six weeks. On the hand the economy shrank by 4.8% becoming the first contraction in five years.
The U.S has a total of 1,066,863 confirmed cases of Coronavirus,125,949 recoveries and 62,860 deaths. In New York, U.S epicentre for the novel Coronavirus, hospitalization and deaths are declining according to the Governor, Andrew Cuomo.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases during a news conference at the White House said there could be millions of vaccines available by January 2021.
Globally, 3,271,692 Coronavirus cases has been confirmed, with 1,011,110 recoveries and 231,808 deaths according to John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.
