The former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA) Chief Victor Umeh has dumped APGA and joined the Labour Party.
Umeh’s defection to Labour Party comes six days after he narrowly lost the APGA ticket for the Anambra Central Senatorial zone to Dozie Nwankwo,
Nwankwo currently represents the Anoacha/Dunukofia/Njikoka Federal Constituency.
According to Channels TV, Umeh participated in the Labour Party’s primaries in Awka on Friday, and clinched the party’s ticket for the Anambra Central Senatorial zone ticket for the 2023 general election.
Following his nomination, Umeh will battle Senator Uche Ekwunife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), APGA’s Dozie Nwankwo and Chief Kodilichukwu Okelekwe of All Progressives Congress in the main election next year.
