The Federal Government of Nigeria has advised all Nigerians fleeing war-torn Ukraine to move to Hungary or Romania border as the countries have agreed visa free access for all Nigerians coming from Ukraine.
This was contained in press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.
The statement signed by permanent secretary of the Foreign Affairs ministry Gabriel Aduda, read “For now, movement to the Hungarian Zahony border and Romanian Suceava, Tulcea, Satu Mare County, and Maramures borders is advised, as they have approved visa free access to all Nigerians coming from Ukraine.”
He added that arrangements have been made for accommodation and feeding before evacuation.
He also said that Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister is working with his Ukrainian counterpart to alleviate the “suffering of Nigerians including deploying the International Organizations for Migration (IOM) to the border to ensure easier access to all Nigerians and other nationals.”

More than 4,000 Nigerian students are studying Ukraine, this excludes Nigerians who live in the country.
The Nigerian Government through its embassy in Poland had listed four borders in Ukraine through which Nigerians seeking to exit the country into Poland amid the ongoing war can be evacuated.
The four border points listed by the embassy are Hrebenne-Rawa Ruska, Korczowa-Krakowiec, Medyka-Szeginie and Budomierz-Hurszew.
