The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), on Thursday, suspended the operations of Azman Air over the airline’s inability to renew its Air Operator Certificate, adding more strain to sector already in crisis.
The suspension is coming barely two months after the suspension of Dana Air on July 20, 2022 over frequent incidents.
A check on the website of the airline currently revealed that all flights to and from different routes have been cancelled.
It was gathered that NCAA had given Azman Air much time to renew the AOC, but the airline failed despite issuing it another 30 days ultimatum to meet the requirements.
Following the suspension, a total of three domestic airlines out of nine running daily scheduled operations are no longer flying, thus creating more passenger traffic in the country.
Recall that during one of the meetings between Government agencies and airlines, the NCAA had revealed there was heavy indebtedness to the NCAA to the tune of N42 billion and $7.8million.
