Multiple websites around the world including those operated by news outlets such the Financial Times, the New York Times and Bloomberg News were down across the globe Tuesday morning, according to Reuters.
The internet outage also affected Amazon retail outlet and Britain’s Guardian newspaper.
Other websites affected include the White House, the UK government website, Spotify, and Reddit, according to Business Insider. Twitch, eBay, Vimeo, and Elon Musk’s SpaceX were also down.
Nearly 21,000 Reddit users reported issues with the social media platform, while more than 2,000 users reported problems with Amazon.

Reuters said that early reports suggested the problem could be linked to popular content delivery network Fastly, which underpins several major websites.
Fastly said it is “currently Investigating potential impact to performance with our CDN services.”
Most of Fastly’s coverage areas were facing “Degraded Performance.”
