Ibom Air has alerted its passengers of impending flight cancellations due to continuous unavailability of aviation fuel in Nigeria.
The management of the Uyo based domestic airline stated that the fuel scarcity has greatly impeded it’s operations. It added that as a result of this difficulty, some flights might have to be cancelled.

The disclosure was made on Friday in a statement signed by Aniekan Essienette, the airline’s General Manager, Marketing and Communications.
In the statement, it said;
“While this situation is unprecedented and disruptive to our value proposition, we assure you that it is as distressing to us as it is to you.
“As Ibom Air, we will continue to do everything in our power to operate our flight schedule as close to 100% as possible while looking forward to normalcy being restored at the earliest.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding”.
An Air Peace flight from Abuja to Lagos on Friday was delayed for over 7 hours, with reasons being attributed to aviation fuel.
The scarcity and high price of aviation fuel has resulted in doubling of flight fares in recent times, and has continued to threaten the entire aviation sector of the country.
